How the rankings work

Straight sorts on the decoded value, except hardest to decode, which is scored: points for group count, far more for uncommon groups — thunderstorms, freezing precipitation, wind shear, variable wind, vertical visibility, peak wind and lightning remarks — and a little for remark length. The score is shown so you can disagree with it.

METAR and TAF are ICAO standards, so the same abbreviations work anywhere. The differences are regional: statute miles and inches of mercury in North America, meters and hectopascals nearly everywhere else.
