Fundamentals of flight
- Straight-and-Level Flight Straight-and-level flight taught as the foundation of every other maneuver: the outside reference picture, pitch for altitude and coordinated aileron and rudder for heading, trimming properly, the cross-controlled habit to avoid, and the overcontrolling that ruins it.
- Level Turns Why a level turn needs back pressure, where the rudder goes during roll-in, how shallow, medium and steep banks behave on their own, and the errors that cost you altitude.

- Chandelles A chandelle is a maximum-performance climbing 180-degree turn: approximately 30 degrees of bank with rising pitch for the first half, then a frozen pitch attitude and a slow rollout to just above stall speed.
- Lazy Eights The one maneuver with no steady state anywhere in it: why the lazy eight is flown, how the 45, 90 and 135-degree points fit together, and the errors that flatten it out.
Ground reference maneuvers
- Rectangular Course Why the rectangular course is where drift correction becomes a reflex: reading the wind, holding four legs at a constant distance, and why no two corners are banked alike.

Basic instrument maneuvers
